A Long Island man murdered his wife and injured his daughter before leading police on a wild car chase into Brooklyn early Friday that ended when his car slammed into a gas station and burst into flames, police source said.

Robert Crumb, 44, fatally stabbed his wife, 41, and wounded his 16-year-old daughter about 12:40 a.m. at their Bethpage, Long Island home before storming away in blue Hyundai Sonata, according to law enforcement sources.

Following the attack, another relative at the suburban residence called police, who spotted Crumb’s vehicle nearby on the Southern State Parkway.

Crumb took off with four Nassau County police vehicle in pursuit. The nearly 30-mile chase ended in a fiery crash at Citgo gas station at Flatlands and Pennsylvania Avenues about 1 a.m., the sources said.

Dramatic footage of the wreck captured on social media shows a gas pump engulfed in flames, and thick plumes of smock billowing into the sky.

“Yo this sh-t is crazy,” said Instagram user chevgotit. “This [guy] just drove through the gas station, getting chased by the boys from Nassau,” he said.

Crumb was injured in the wreck and transported to Brookdale Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

A Nassau County police vehicle also crashed at the scene and two police officers were taken to a Long Island area hospital for smoke-related injuries.
