A woman was clinging to life and a man was wounded in a shootout between two moving vehicles on a Bronx highway early Sunday morning, cops said.
Gunshots rang out at about 5 a.m. on the Major Deegan Expressway, when a woman in a Mercedes Benz SUV exchanged fire with the driver of a black Range Rover, according to police.
The 27-year-old woman, who was driving the Mercedes SUV, is in critical condition with a bullet to the back, cops said.
She suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.
The 35-year-old man, who was in a Ford Edge — who police said was not involved in the shootout — was shot in the legs, cops said.

The driver of the Ford is expected to survive. The driver of the Range Rover sped off, police said.
There were no immediate arrests.
