A Bronx woman was brutally murdered after an argument with the father of her child — who allegedly confessed to repeatedly stabbing her in the face, authorities said.
The victim 29, was found inside her 14th-floor home at the Park Lane Apartments on Lafayette Avenue near Pugsley Avenue Friday evening, after someone heard the victim’s screams, and called 911, police said.
A nervous and seemingly confused Kelvin Diaz, 31, was charged with murder in the second degree and ordered held without bail in Bronx court Saturday.

Diaz allegedly stabbed the mother of his 5-year-old child “multiple times in the face and eye with a knife and shards of a wooden broomstick,” Assistant District Attorney William Browne said in court.
Prosecutors didn’t say what the pair were arguing about when Diaz allegedly snapped.
Appearing via video conference, Diaz fidgeted throughout the proceeding, wiping his eyebrows, rubbing his chest appearing to cry. He twice attempted to leave before the hearing was finished, prompting Judge Ashlee Crawford to snap, “Mr. Diaz, sit down.”
Crawford agreed to a request from Diaz’ lawyer that the suspect be given a medical and psychiatric evaluation. Diaz is next due in court Feb. 4.
