Police arrested a man who slashed a fellow straphanger in the neck at the Columbus Circle station early Monday, authorities said.
The men, both 21, got into a fight on board the A train as it was approaching the station around 1:30 a.m.
When the train doors opened, the attacker pulled out a sharp object and sliced the victim across the neck.
The man tried to flee the station but was quickly taken into custody by police, along with a female accomplice.
Charges against the suspect are pending
The victim was being treated at New York Presbyterian Hospital and is expected to recover, police said.
