A man was arrested for a hit-and-run accident that killed an off-duty NYPD officer on the New Jersey Turnpike.

William Espinal-Mejia, 35, of Linden, NJ, turned himself in Monday evening and was charged with second-degree leaving the scene of a fatal accident, CBS reported.

He allegedly fatally struck Officer Vincent Harrison, 25, on the highway early Sunday in Elizabeth.
