Authorities have charged a 56-year-old Queens man in

the fatal hit-and-run of a senior citizen bicyclist

near Times Square.

Kenneth Jackson was arrested Tuesday and charged with failure to yield to a bicyclist and failure to use due care, police said.

Joseph Chiam, 72, of the East Village was hit near the intersection of Eighth Avenue and West 45th Street in Midtown shortly before 6 a.m. on Feb. 4. Chiam was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Jackson was identified as the driver of the private oil truck shortly after the crash but wasn’t charged until seven weeks later following an investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and the NYPD, police said.
