A man cheated death at a Bronx subway station Wednesday when he was shoved onto the tracks by a turnstile jumper — as the oncoming train only ran over his leg, officials said.
Luis Henriques, 43, got into an argument with a man on the platform of the B and D lines at Grand Concourse and East 170th Street around 6:40 a.m., police sources said.
He was shoved onto the tracks as a train was coming into the station. The train’s motorman “saw somebody fly in front of the train,” but couldn’t stop in time, according to NYPD Transit Bureau Chief Joseph Fox.
The train ran over Henriques’ lower left leg, leaving him in serious condition at Lincoln Hospital, fire officials said.
“When I walked down into the mezzanine, police told me to go back up,” said Daniel Napoleonis, 19, who came across the scene on his way to school. “I was looking to the side. I saw a lot of blood. Really, really bad. All I saw was a lot of blood.”
A witness told police that the assailant — who was still at large Wednesday — jumped the turnstile before the incident.
