A broken muni-meter cost a Brooklyn motorist a night in jail after a parking cop refused to believe he had properly paid, the driver claims in a $10 million lawsuit.

Yakov Pukhovich, 60, claims he parked his car near East 15th Street and Avenue P in Midwood and went to the meter to pay. When he realized the closest one was broken, he walked around the corner in search of a working one, according to court papers.

When he got back, traffic agent Candice Courtney was giving him a ticket, Pukhovich says in a Brooklyn federal court lawsuit.

Courtney refused to accept Pukhovich’s receipt and the officer “falsely stated that [Pukhovich] pushed her,” he said.

Pukhovich was arrested and spent more than 24 hours in jail. The charges were later dismissed.
