A 17-year-old boy died when he jumped from the George Washington Bridge Wednesday, officials said.
The unidentified teen went over the edge of the bridge’s bike path area and landed in the Hudson River just before 7 a.m.
NYPD divers went into the water to search for him as an aviation unit hovered above.
The boy’s body was eventually located and airlifted to Manhattan’s Highbridge Park, where he was turned over to EMS and rushed to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in critical condition.
He later passed away at the hospital, sources said.
It’s not immediately clear why he jumped.
