A 77-year-old man on his way to a Bronx grocery store was tossed from his wheelchair by four thugs, who then picked the badly injured victim off the ground and put him back in it, cops said.
The incident happened at around 7:30 a.m. in front of 2509 Cruger Ave, according to police.
The victim was later taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was treated for multiple fractures.
While in the hospital, police said the man’s condition was downgraded to critical and unstable. He was rushed into surgery, as a result.
It’s unclear if the suspects robbed the victim. Cops were still investigating as of Sunday night.
