A 20-year-old Hispanic man was stabbed and critically injured in Lower Manhattan early this afternoon following an apparent dispute, sources said.

The 2:15 p.m. incident occurred at Canal Street and West Street, on a pier maintained by the Parks Department, sources said.

Both NYPD and Port Authority police officials were on the scene while the victim, who was carrying a book bag, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital with a wound to his upper chest.

“It’s a pretty serious stab wound,” said one law enforcement official, who said it was unclear if the victim would survive the attack.

Two men, both possibly suspects, were spotted on surveillance video running from the scene, east on Canal Street, shortly after the attack, sources said.
