HACKENSACK, N.J. — Authorities say a Hackensack man has died after a police-involved shooting in northern New Jersey.
Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli said Thursday that 24-year-old Elvin Diaz was killed after he was shot by police when three officers were dispatched to his home.
Molinelli says the three officers were taken to a hospital but they are not believed to have been injured.
He says the county’s shooting response team was activated after the shooting following a call to check on someone at the home.
It wasn’t immediately clear what led to the shooting.
