A Brooklyn straphanger was killed when his foot became lodged between a subway car and the platform and he was dragged screaming and thrown onto the tracks, then hit by a train, authorities said Thursday. 

The transit horror occurred as Marcus Bryant, 37, was getting off a northbound Q train at the Avenue M station in Midwood around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, the MTA said. 

Bryant’s foot got wedged — and he was then dragged along the platform before being thrown onto the tracks as the train pulled out of the station, according to the NYPD.

He was not run over by that train but was hit by another several minutes later as it pulled into the station, police said. 

Officials initially said Bryant’s pants or jacket had been caught in one of the train doors, leading to his death, but later said video footage of the incident revealed a different scenario.

“We do not believe this is a door incident,” NYC Transit President Richard Davey said, according to WABC-7. “We believe he was caught between the platform and the train.”

Bryant of Midwood was taken to Maimonides Medical Center but could not be saved, cops said. 

A man at an address listed for Bryant’s family declined to comment Thursday.

Neighbor Carlos Marin described the deceased as a “quiet guy” who came to the building to visit his mother, who has two others sons.

“I was hoping it wasn’t him. He was a nice person,” said another neighbor, a 27-year-old city worker who declined to give her name. “My family knew him for years. He used to live here, but he moved a long time ago.”
