A 45-year-old man told his wife he was going to the fourth-floor roof of their Upper West Side pad because they were locked out Sunday– but then jumped to his death, cops said.

The man plummeted from the roof of 123 W. 88th St. at about 1 a.m., police said.

“He told his spouse that he was going on the roof in an attempt to get inside the apartment because they were locked out,” a police source said.

The man was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital to be treated for his injuries but couldn’t be saved. Police didn’t know how many floors he fell, but the building is four stories high, city records show.

“He has a psych history,” the police source said. “He jumped.”
