A Brooklyn man is dead after a blaze inside a public housing complex Saturday, police and fire officials said.
Flames broke out on the fifth floor of a building at NYCHA’s Marlboro Houses on West 8th St. near 86th St. in Gravesend at about 1:45 p.m., authorities said.
Roughly 65 of New York’s Bravest responded to the fire, where they found a 63-year-old man lying unresponsive in his fifth-floor apartment, police said.
The unidentified man was rushed to NYC Health and Hospital/Coney Island, where he was pronounced dead.
Three others were injured while tackling the blaze — two firefighters and one EMS worker, who all sustained minor injuries, fire officials said.
The fire was placed under control shortly after at 2:20 p.m.
The victim’s name was being withheld while family was notified.
