FORT SALONGA, N.Y. — A 51-year-old Long Island man has died in a house fire.

Suffolk County Police say a fire destroyed a home on Juliet Lane in Fort Salonga early Tuesday.

Firefighters found the body of Timothy Salsone on a bed in the master bedroom. He was declared dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the county medical examiner’s office.

Homicide and arson squad detectives are investigating.
