A man died in Suffolk County after being hit by two cars — one of which took off after the crash, police said Sunday.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, was crossing Herkimer Street at the intersection of Carlton Street in Mastic at 8:50 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe, according to police.

The driver, a 55-year-old Mastic man, stopped the truck and called 911, police said.

The pedestrian was then hit by another vehicle, which was also heading southbound on Herkimer Street but fled the scene, according to cops.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
