An elderly woman and a man were killed when a fire broke out in an Upper West Side apartment building late Wednesday, officials said.

The blaze erupted just after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on the fourth floor of the six-story building on West 62nd Street near West End Avenue, according to the FDNY.

The 70-year-old woman and 44-year-old man — who were believed to be related — were discovered inside the apartment and pronounced dead on scene, police said.

A dozen units, including 60 firefighters, responded to the fire, cops said.

The blaze was placed under control at 12:20 a.m. Thursday, fire officials said.

It began inside a laundry room, and was preliminarily ruled to be electrical and not suspicious, cops said.
