A man with drug raps on his record escaped a bomb attack Wednesday when two aerosol cans attached to the underside of the car he was driving exploded, police sources said.
He was behind the wheel at Roberts and Mahan avenues in Pelham Bay at 9 p.m. when the cans went off, the sources said.
A detonator and timing device were attached to the cans, which had been fashioned into a crude bomb.
The driver was not injured, the sources said.
