A man is fighting for his life after a fire tore through his Kips Bay apartment, authorities said.

The flames broke out on the fifth floor of the building on 34th Street near 2nd Avenue around 4:30 a.m., the FDNY said.

It took more than an hour before firefighters were able to place the blaze under control at 5:50 a.m., fire officials said.

A man was pulled from the building and rushed to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, the FDNY said.

Two firefighters were also taken to Bellevue Hospital with minor injuries.
