A South Carolina man on Wednesday was sentenced in Manhattan federal court to six-and-a-half years in prison for trafficking dozens of guns into the city.

Torrie Johnson, 42, sold 25 handguns to an undercover NYPD detective over the course of five meetings from January to May of last year, according to court documents.

“Torrie Johnson illegally sold more than two dozen firearms in New York City without regard for where they ended up or how they would be used,” US Attorney Geoffrey Berman said in a statement.

Johnson was arrested last May and in January he pled guilty to one count of firearms trafficking, the US Attorney’s Office said in a press release announcing his sentencing.

In addition to Johnson’s prison term, he was also sentenced to three years of supervised release.
