A man is in critical condition after he was struck by an oncoming train in Manhattan, police said Wednesday.

The victim, who is believed to be in his 60s, was on the train tracks when a 6 train struck him as it entered into the Lexington Avenue/59th Street subway stop in Midtown around 11 a.m., police said.

It is unclear how the man ended up on the tracks, police added.

Following the incident, 5 and 6 trains resumed regular service with expected delays in both directions, the MTA announced on Twitter.

He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, police added.
