A Queens man who allegedly plowed his speeding Mercedes into a motorcyclist early yesterday morning –and sped off, says he was too smashed to know what was going on.

Shamel Campbell, 26, the accused hit and run driver on the LIE crash told cops, “I don’t know what happened, I was drunk,” according to a criminal complaint.

Around 1 a.m yesterday, Campbell’s white 2006 Mercedes Benz 350 slammed into Dwan Gonzalez’s Harley Davidson from behind, throwing him onto the hood. Gonzalez then rolled up the windshield and was tossed about 300 feet.

Gonzalez, 44, of Jamaica, Queens died at the scene.

Campbell was apprehended an hour after the accident with “bloodshot eyes, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and was unsteady on his feet,” cops said.

The lush was driving with a suspended license and registered a blood-alcohol level of .18 -more than twice the legal limit.

He was held on $7,500 bail for the DWI.

Campbell’s family declined to comment at his arraignment today.

Charges for the hit and run are pending further investigation.
