A man playing around with a drone tried to lower himself from a roof with a homemade rope made of blankets and sheets when the gadget got stuck on a lower level — and the doofus fell two stories, witnesses and officials on scene said.

The man tried to scale down the rope around 5 p.m. from one roof on East 12th Street to a lower one next door, where the drone was, witnesses said.

He fell and was taken away on a stretcher, conscious and breathing on his own.

Police officers recovered the drone.
