A man jumped to his death from the Manhattan Bridge Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

Police said the unidentified man, believed to be in his 40s, plunged from the span at about 5:45 p.m., and crashed to the ground near Pike Street and Cherry Street.

First responders took the man to New York Downtown Hospital, but he could not be saved, officials said.

Cops are investigating the death as a suicide.
