A man jumped to his death from the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge early Monday, police said.

The man, who was in his 60s, stopped his car in the middle of the span’s lower roadway and jumped around 5:30 a.m.

The NYPD and Coast Guard searched the waters near the bridge and eventually located the man’s body. He did not survive, police said.

The incident tied up traffic for a few hours during the morning rush but was cleared by around 7 a.m.
