An unidentified male jumped to his death Monday afternoon on West 57th Street and another woman attempted the same across town on Park Avenue but EMS were able to pull her from the window before she jumped, police sources said.

The 39-year-old man jumped out of a window near West 57th Street and Tenth Avenue just before 5 p.m. He was pronounced dead by EMS at 4:50 p.m.

Brent Kope, 32, saw the body outside on the sidewalk.

“It looks like he hit his head … his body’s on the sidewalk… it’s pretty disturbing,” he said.

Uptown on 108th Street an emotionally disturbed woman attempted to jump from her 15th floor window but was talked down by emergency workers on scene, witnesses said.

The woman had been seen talking to herself in the past and has a history of suicide attempts, according to neighbors.
