A 37-year-old man jumped to his death from the roof of the Fashion Institute of Technology in Chelsea on Sunday morning — in front of security guards who frantically tried to stop him, cops said.

The man, whose identity wasn’t immediately released, landed in front of the building at 227 W. 27th St. around 5 a.m., cops said.

The man had tripped an alarm when he went out onto the ninth floor roof, and security personnel tried to talk to him, but he ran away and jumped off the building, cops said.

No criminality is suspected, cops said.

The city’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

The famous institute is part of the State University of New York.
