A 35-year-old man was lying in a Bronx street Tuesday night when he was fatally struck by a vehicle, cops said.

Cops found the man unconscious and unresponsive in the street on Jerome Avenue near Macombs Road in West Concourse at about 10 p.m. He was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver fled the scene, cops said. Police believe that he was driving a sedan.

Cops did not know early Wednesday why the man had been lying in the street.
