The NYPD’s Harbor Unit pronounced him dead at the scene, authorities added. Police have yet to release the person’s identity.

There was a piece of rope attached to the victim’s waist with floating tubes that had “some significant” weight to them, sources told The Post. But there was no trauma to his body, according to authorities.

The Medical Examiner’s Office will officially determine the cause of his death.

The incident is still under investigation, cops said.
