A man set himself ablaze Monday afternoon in an apartment building in Jamaica, Queen, starting a fire that burned multiple homes, police sources said.

The man suffered serious injuries in the fire, which began at 162-05 89th Ave. about 4 p.m., the sources said.

Initial reports that a cop was also injured were unfounded, police said.

The FDNY battled a two-alarm blaze at the building. No further information was immediately available.
