A man jumped in front of a train in Midtown on Monday afternoon, severing at least one finger, cops and witnesses said.
The victim, believed to be in his 40s, was struck by a Queens-bound No. 7 train at the Fifth Avenue station shortly after noon, cops said.
A witness said that despite losing at least one finger, he was conscious and alert.
“I saw him jump off the platform,” she said. “He is missing a finger, or more than one finger.”
Emergency personnel took the victim to Bellevue Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
