A Long Island man was shot dead as he entered his own home, police said.

James Creekmore, 41, got home after 10 p.m. Friday and was killed by someone inside his North Bay Shore Home as soon as he opened the door to go inside, cops said.

The gunman, who arrived at the house near Sagtikos Parkway and North Gardiner Drive just moments before Creekmore, got inside by simply knocking on the front door — though it’s unclear if he was let in voluntarily, or forced his way inside when the door was opened.

Creekmore was pronounced dead at the scene. Police didn’t say if he knew the gunman.
