A man was shot to death inside of a Coney Island housing project today, police said.

Shots rang out in the first floor hallway of the Surfside Gardens Houses on West 33rd Street about 1:10 p.m., police said.

A 27-year-old man was hit in the chest and died at the scene, police said.

Details surrounding the shooting were not immediately known.
