A 29-year-old man was slashed in the face and robbed of his wallet on a Manhattan train early Tuesday, cops said.
The victim was riding a 1 train at the Christopher Street station in Greenwich Village around 3:45 a.m. when another man approached him, pulled out a sharp object and slashed him on the left cheek, police said.
The suspect also took off with the victim’s wallet, authorities said.
After the incident, the victim walked into the NYPD’s Transit District 2 headquarters, located at the Canal Street station, to report it, police said.
The victim, who was highly intoxicated, was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, police sources said.
The circumstances leading up to the assault were not immediately clear.
