A 23-year-old man was slashed in the hand and forehead at a Brooklyn subway station late Wednesday — the latest episode in a recent rash of transit violence.
Police said the victim was at the 59th Street R line station around 7:30 p.m. when he tried to break up a fight and was slashed.
Corey Mitchell, 51, was arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree assault, according to police.
The victim was taken to Lutheran Medical Center and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, cops said.
The incident marks the latest outbreak of violence in the Big Apple city transit system, and the sixth subway slashing since last week.
