A carpenter was slashed in a Midtown pub Thursday.

The victim and another carpenter were inside Peter Dillon’s Pub on East 40th Street near Lexington Avenue when an argument broke out and another man slashed one of them in the chin at about 4 p.m., police said.

The 55-year-old victim, who was intoxicated, was taken to Bellevue Hospital for a cut that required eight stitches.

The nature of the argument is unclear. Both carpenters go to the pub every Thursday, police said.

The suspect is still at large. The slashing was not St. Patrick’s Day-related, cops said.
