A 35-year-old man was stabbed in the chest outside Tompkins Square Park in the East Village on Monday night, police said

The victim was stabbed by a male suspect man about 9:40 p.m. at the corner of East 7th Street and Avenue A, cops said.

The two had been engaged in some sort of dispute before the stabbing.

The suspect, believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, fled the scene.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital and listed in stable condition, cops said.
