A man rescued his dad from a Fourth of July assault in the Bronx and was stabbed by one of the assailants shortly after the attack on his father, police said Wednesday.

The fracas started when the victims spotted a group of people setting off fireworks near their car near River Avenue and McClellan Street in the Concourse section of the borough, cops said.

The father was attacked by two men in the group when he tried to get them to leave.

His 23-year-old son came to his defense, but ended up getting stabbed several times in the back with a glass bottle, cops said.

The son was taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition, while the father refused medical attention.

Cops were looking for the assailants on Wednesday night.
