A man fell onto the subway tracks and was struck and killed by a train in Queens early Tuesday evening, officials said.
The victim was hit at about 6:40 p.m. on tracks shared by southbound E and F lines at the Jackson Heights/Roosevelt Avenue Station, MTA and law enforcement sources said.
Southbound E, F, M and R trains had to temporarily bypass that busy Queens station.
The 58-year-old victim was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
The MTA tweeted at 7:41 p.m.: “Earlier, a person was struck by a train at Roosevelt Av. He’s been removed by medical personnel and service has resumed. Thank you for your patience.”
