A 26-year-old man was critically injured early Saturday when he was struck by a car on the Van Wyck Expressway.
The injured motorist had stepped out of his car to check for damage after he collided with another vehicle in the Van Wyck’s northbound lane, near the Rockaway Boulevard exit.
While the man was looking over his car, a third vehicle, an 2002 Acura, slammed into him, authorities said.
First responders rushed the injured motorist to Jamaica Hospital after the 12:15 a.m. crash. He was reported in critical condition.
The drivers of the other two cars involved in the incident remained on the scene and as of late Saturday faced no charges or summonses.
