A man suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a Metro-North train Friday afternoon in Westchester, officials said.

The unidentified man was hit by a southbound train at the Purdy’s station on the Harlem Line at about 4:20 p.m., and pinned under the train, according to an MTA spokesman.

First responders managed to extricate the man, and flew him by helicopter to an area hospital.

The man suffered serious injuries, but MTA officials said he was conscious when he was rescued from the tracks.

It was not immediately clear how the man ended up in the oncoming train’s path.

Several trains were delayed along the line Friday night as authorities investigated.

The incident comes just 10 days after six people died and a dozen were injured when a Metro-North train collided with an SUV on the tracks near the Valhalla station, also on the Harlem Line.
