A 53-year-old man was struck and killed by an F train in Greenwich Village Wednesday night, police said.

The northbound train was pulling into the West 4th Street station just after 8 p.m. when it struck the man, according to authorities. The train’s emergency brakes were activated, and the operator found the victim under the last train car, according to an MTA official.

Paramedics rushed the man, who has yet to be identified, to Bellevue Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

As of early Thursday morning, police did not know how the man ended up on the tracks.
