A New Jersey man whose phone number was found in the back pocket of one of the killers in last week’s deadly shootout in Jersey City was ordered held without bail Monday in an unrelated gun case.

Ahmed Hady, 35, was denied bail in federal court in Newark after prosecutors argued that he posed a threat to the community — and expressed concern over his tenuous link to the Jersey City gun battle.

“Of all the pawnshops between Jersey City and Keyport, there’s a large cache of weapons found in the building where [he] lived,” Assistant US Attorney Thomas Kearney said in court Monday, adding that “the court should consider the proximity of the location where Mr. Anderson met his demise in Jersey to the location in Keyport and the number of pawnshops between them.”

The FBI found a cache of weapons in Hady’s Keyport, NJ, home and his pawnshop after tracking him from the phone number and address scribbled on a piece of paper found on Jersey City gunman David Anderson after he was shot dead by police.

The US Attorneys Office later denied that they were linking Hardy’s gun case to the Jersey City shooting that left four dead, including a veteran detective.

A spokesman for the office said the Jersey City incident was raised in court to explain how Hady came to be identified and taken into custody.

But Hady’s lawyer, K. Anthony Thomas, who asked for $100,000 in bail, said his client’s case was being tainted by hypothetical ties to the shooting.

“His number was found in the pocket of some idiot that decided to go on a rampage,” Thomas said. “To add some nefarious reason why his number is in somebody’s pocket is ridiculous.”

The judge denied bail and scheduled a new bail hearing for Tuesday afternoon.

Hady had a history of gun purchases dating to 2007 but was barred from legally owning weapons following a 2012 fraud conviction, according to a federal complaint.

Hady’s brother and father are cooperating with the FBI, including turning over telephone records.

They told The Post that they did not know Anderson and said it was just “bad luck” that the Jersey City gunman had Hady’s contact information on him.
