A man tried to escape from a bail bondsman at criminal court, but was nabbed outside and brought back, police said Saturday.

The 25-year-old man was at Manhattan Criminal Court on Centre Street when he slipped away from a private bail bondsman around 2:30 a.m., officials said.

NYPD officers helped catch the fleeing criminal, though he was not officially in their custody.

It was not immediately clear whether the man was trying to skip out on his bail, or what charges he may have been facing.
