A schizophrenic Bronx man, who allegedly admitted to throwing boiling oil over his teen niece while she slept, was released Friday despite a prosecutor’s request for $500,000 bail.

“I was upset at my niece. I boiled the oil and threw it at her,” Jonathan Salinas, 28, who has a history of violence against his family, told police.

The 13-year-old niece suffered burns on her face, back, chest and arms during the attack Thursday around 4:30 a.m. inside the family’s Bainbridge Avenue apartment.

Salinas was charged with five felony counts of assault, possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child, but Criminal Court Judge Dakota Ramseur released him without bail.
