A person was killed when they were struck by an LIRR train in Suffolk County on Friday afternoon, officials said.

The victim was struck at a crossing in Sayville, Long Island at around 2:40 p.m., according to the MTA.

The train was heading toward Manhattan.

The person’s identity was not released pending family notification.
