The Bronx woman caught on camera sucker punching a pro-life activist has dodged criminal charges in the case because the Manhattan District Attorney’s office failed to meet a legal deadline — but instead of remorse, she attacked her victim again.

Brianna J. Rivers had been facing a second-degree assault charge for the April incident which took place in Harlem while Savannah Craven Antao was interviewing her, but a court dismissed the case in July after DA Alvin Bragg’s office failed to turn over evidence to the defense team on time.

Craven Antao is now looking into filing a lawsuit against Rivers, a legal rep for the victim said.

“I feel like people with real common sense know exactly what’s going on. She’s just fishing for more clicks and empathy and targeting me for harassment, so yeah, I don’t really feel anything about it,” Rivers, 30, told The Post Saturday. “I was apologetic to her. I felt sorry about the situation.  She wants to continue to just kind of drag it out.”

Craven Antao said she wasn’t surprised by Rivers’ response and doesn’t believe her assailant felt remorse for the attack.

“I have dozens of screenshots of her liking comments saying things like, ‘You ain’t hit that girl hard enough,’ ‘You did the community a service! She f—ed around and found out!’ ‘She deserved it 1000% never doubt urself queen!!!,'” she said. “Brianna made a rap song about me blaming me for her assaulting me. Someone she knew or followed on Instagram made t-shirts with an emoji face being punched that said, ‘That’s not the point!’ Which is what she said to me before punching me in the face with her phone.

“Why couldn’t she just walk away? Justice was denied. Shame on Alvin Bragg’s DA office,” she added. .

The DA’s office confirmed what it called an “unacceptable error” in the case, which occurred after the case was transferred to a different prosecutor, sources said.

The bungled case is now being reviewed by the Chicago-based firm Thomas More Society, which plans to sue Rivers on the activist’s behalf.

“People need to learn accountability for what is happening in this country over the last year, which is this wave of violence by left-wing activists who think that the appropriate response to an opinion they don’t like is either punching, kicking, assaulting or shooting somebody,” Christopher Ferrara, senior counsel with the Thomas More Society, told The Post Friday.

“This lawsuit is about telling people that there is accountability if you viciously assault somebody because you don’t like what she says. You’re going to suffer the consequences, if not criminally, then civilly.”

The DA’s office also failed to update Craven Antao about the case when the charges were dropped and has since ignored multiple calls and emails from his law firm, he said.

Craven Antao  didn’t know the case had been dismissed until she saw her assailant flaunting the news on Instagram.

“I’m feeling disgusted,” the 23-year-old reporter for advocacy group Live Action said in a phone interview.

The mistake is just another example of the office’s “incompetence” under lefty Bragg — who cares more about his political standing than getting justice for victims, according to veteran prosecutor Diana Florence.

“Violence of any sort is absolutely abhorrent and should be prosecuted. Here, this was an extremely strong case – it was caught on video. There’s no question about what happened,” said Florence, who worked as an ADA under Bragg’s predecessor, former District Attorney Cy Vance, and is now running as an independent for Bragg’s seat.

The case would likely still be alive if the “ineffective” Bragg cared enough to hire discovery specialists instead of relying on “overwhelmed” prosecutors to do the work, Florence insisted.

“The discovery laws are absolutely onerous and they should be changed and they have been changed. But one thing that Alvin Bragg has not done is professionalize discovery. It should not be dependent on an individual prosecutor who is a lawyer, not a discovery specialist, to comply with the rules. They need help — the [district attorneys] in that office need help,” she explained.

Florence said she “couldn’t say” whether Bragg’s lefty politics directly contributed to the outcome of this case, but claimed it wouldn’t be the first time.

“Politics has no place in the district attorney’s office and…that is what has happened in this district attorney’s office. We’ve seen it time and time again,” she said, and referenced Bragg’s dismissal of murder charges against Tracy McCarter, who was accused of killing her husband in 2020.

“I don’t care if you are an extreme republican, an extreme democrat, an independent – whatever you are, you deserve justice in the Manhattan DA’s office. And if you have to question if justice isn’t going to be given to you because you don’t agree with the district attorney, that’s a huge problem,” Florence warned.

One veteran NYPD officer believes Bragg’s office might have intentionally bungled the case because of Craven Antao’s pro-life stance.

“She’s like Charlie Kirk,” the 25-year cop said.  “She’s a pro-lifer. It wasn’t a case that Bragg and them really gave two s–ts about. Something serious like this and all of a sudden you forget the paperwork?

“The case was dismissed in July and the victim found out through the perp posting it on the Internet. How f–ked up is that? It’s another smack in the face to the victim. You hear from your perpetrator online that the case was dismissed? You can’t re-prosecute the case. That’s it. Hopefully she can be compensated for it because that’s dead wrong,” he said.

Former City Councilman Joe Borelli, who stepped down earlier this year from his Staten Island post, called Bragg “the world’s worst prosecutor.”

“This time we hit the trifecta of all his flaws: partisan hackery; perverted criminal justice policy; and incompetent general buffoonery. Just the kind of lawman Manhattan voters love,” the Republican said.

Bragg’s office is “taking immediate internal steps in light” of the botched case, a spokesperson said in a statement.

“Every victim deserves their day in court, and our office has reached out to apologize to Ms. Craven Antao for the unacceptable error of missing the discovery deadline.”

The DA’s office said it established a Discovery Compliance Bureau in late July, changed office operations, added technology advancements and hired additional staff to improve its compliance with discovery laws.

The “unprovoked” attack left the emotionally traumatized Craven Antao with a black eye, two stitches under her eyebrow, severe pain in her nose and more than $3,000 in medical bills.

“I was using my First Amendment right to free speech to speak about what I believe in, and on top of that, I wasn’t even saying anything that was egregious,” Craven Antao stressed, adding that Rivers had approached her before agreeing to be interviewed about Planned Parenthood and abortion.

“I want her to understand that this is not something that she can continue to do the next time she runs into somebody she disagrees with.”

During the filmed interview, tensions flared when the conservative influencer pressed Rivers about her views on the controversial topics.

The interview gradually grew sour as Craven Antao routinely interrupted Rivers, claimed women who have undergone abortions were “killing babies” and even laughed at her interview subject, the video showed.

When Craven Antao asked whether foster kids should be killed because “they’re not wanted,” Rivers responded, “Why not?”

“Who’s going to take care of them? I need to know the percentage of people who take children from foster care and abuse them and molest them, who make them personal slaves. I need specifics before you come to talk to me about pro-life,” the assailant said.

The pair went back and forth for another minute before the video clipped. Craven Antao then is heard repeating the foster care question she had posed to Rivers.

“I’m not the one who admitted they would be OK with killing babies in foster care and killing children that have been abused.”

“That’s not the point. What I’m saying is …” Rivers said before unleashing a flurry of punches to Craven Antao’s face, then storming off while flipping both middle fingers and telling the pro-lifer’s husband to “S–k my d–k.”

Rivers later apologized on social media for socking her interviewer but claimed the “antagonistic” victim goaded her into violence.

The brute has since posted a string of videos online gloating about the assault, telling critics to back off now that the case has been dismissed. She also launched an online fundraiser begging for cash for her legal bills.

Ferrara said the outcome might have been different if Rivers had offered a sincere apology.

“It might be a different story if she had some repentance or truly apologized,” Ferrara said, noting the lawsuit will be filed in the coming weeks.

“This is a case of someone who thinks, in this climate, this assassination culture, that she’s totally justified. It’s a very dramatic illustration of the mentality that we’re dealing with.”

“We are living in a time where many people believe they can harm people they disagree with. Including killing them. I will continue to speak out because everyone deserves to be free safe from political violence,” Craven Antao said.
