‘Manhattan project’ for DA
The Manhattan DA yesterday unveiled a new plan to carve the borough into five zones and then assign each a special crime-fighting team led by a veteran prosecutor.
The assigned assistant DA won’t try cases involving his zone, but instead will be working with an investigator, intelligence analyst and community-affairs coordinator to identify crime trends in it and keep better tabs on repeat offenders and parolees there, said DA Cyrus Vance Jr.
