Police are looking for a knife-wielding maniac who brutally attacked a man in Chelsea on Thursday.

The attacker jumped the 27-year-old man from between two parked cars in front of 158 West 29th Street just before 5:30 p.m. He slashed the victim multiple times in the face, back and arms before fleeing on foot, cops said.

The men, who did not know each other, reportedly argued prior to the attack, police said. The nature of the dispute was not clear.

The victim was taken to Bellevue hospital in serious, but stable condition.

The suspect is described as a man in his mid-to-late 20s, who stands 6-foot-6 with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatsuit, red sneakers and black gloves.
